About Joy
A native Californian, Joy moved to Alamo in 1955 when there were more farms and orchards than homes in the East Bay. She has watched this area grow as agriculture gave way to suburban living, first as a bedroom community for San Francisco and Oakland, followed by the development of Walnut Creek as a financial hub.
Parents involved in local real estate, plus a good mind for numbers, made Business and Real Estate the logical majors when she attended college at San Jose State. Joy began selling real estate in 1975 in the little town of Danville, working seven days a week, holding open houses on weekends, managing escrows, and doing bookkeeping during the week.
Joys real estate career, now spanning more than thirty years, is still going strong and is immensely satisfying. Keeping abreast of technological change can be a challenge; remembering who she works for and keeping their needs foremost at all times is why her referral network is so strong, and why she has the loyalty of those who know her work.
Joy, a founding partner of Empire Realty, is a strong believer in owning real estate, first as a primary residence and then as an important part of any diversified investment portfolio.
